Flowers & Smoke

Chamomile-Smoked Salmon with Chamomile-Infused Crème Fraîche

Thinking back to my memories of England, I wanted to represent, through aroma, the calmness and feeling of relaxation reminiscent of an afternoon tea experience.

A Calming Sensory Meditation Through Cuisine

Faint whiffs of soft chamomiles: the feeling of taking a deep inhale, encapsulated in an aroma. This divine dish, with a uniquely Pacific Northwest flair, evokes calm, quiet moments of relaxation and stillness. Shed the chaos of the day and fall deeply into a peaceful reflection.

This series presents a compilation of sensory experiences which explore food and beverage removed from the context of taste, in this way heightening the emphasis on our other (often secondary) senses. The color palate of each film, along with the music and dish, evoke a mood, in this case, calm.

This sensory meditation is part of our larger series Language of Aroma.
